I’ve been getting back into reading lately, I had forgotten just how much I used to love it so it was really nice. I had stopped reading at some point because I couldn’t help the feeling that I should be spending all my time sorting my problems out. I think when we get too caught up in listing out the things we can’t do that we stop doing the things we love and the things that ground us. This is also due to the influence society has on us by always putting emphasis on our shortcomings. Something I try to tell myself now, time and time again, is that making mistakes, failing and losing things are ok. That’s how we learn most efficiently and it’s what makes us humane. Some things just cannot be taught, only demonstrated. I think if we thought of failure as a chance to re evaluate and improve instead of a step back, I think we’d be a lot happier and have better chance of accomplishing the things we want to do.
